Charley
Meet Charley. She was abused, and neglected. She lived in a kitchen cabinet for months, because that was her life.
And so, Charley is a tough nut to adopt out. Not because she's aggressive, or rude...but because she is so paralyzed with anxiety about all aspects of life. Luckily, she has an amazing foster mom, who is coaxing her out of her shell. She no longer tries to live under the bed, or shuts down and just stays in one space...no matter if she has to potty or not.
Charley now solicits attention, and sleeps with her foster mom. She looks out the windows, and watches the world go by with interest, rather than terror. She likes routine, and reliability. She needs to know you are trustworthy.
Kids and dogs are right out the door. Charley is fine with other cats, but does set herself up for bullying if she's paired with a stronger personality.
We are in no rush to find a home for Charley, because she is going to need a special human to really help her remember how to be herself again. If that's you, please let us know!
