Ella
Is your house too quiet? Your life too sedentary? Your bed too empty?
Well then, have we got the hound for you!
Ella is an amazing three year old girl who gets along with everyone. Men, women, kids...she's enthusiastic about meeting all of them. Cats, dogs, chickens...not a rude bone in her body.
She has friends both below and above her weight class, and plays wonderfully with all of them. As a former mama, she has a lot of patience for younger smaller dogs. She's also incredibly loyal to her people, and does check ins.
Ella wants her people to be happy with her, and has a 90% reliable recall. She is a deer chaser, so we don't recommend letting her off lease anywhere unfamiliar. HOUND. The same goes with her yard in her future home...this is a dog who needs a fenced yard. She loves to spend time with her people, and will laze around a campfire, or under a hammock...but if the wind blows a fascinating scent her way, she's easily distractible. As long as she gets her twice daily walks/runs, she's a couch potato of a pup. She does nightly runs with her foster mom along-side the bicycle. She has wonderful leash manners, and responds well to both "leave it," and "with me" for optimal walk enjoyment. Ella is crate trained, and likes to be in her crate. It helps her bring her energy down if she's thinking about something too much. She needs a bed in her crate, she is a baby. She will sleep in her crate in her bed, but she prefers to sleep with her people. She's either a foot warmer, or a little spoon, depending on the night.
Ella has good people manners, and doesn't jump up (once she's settled) or bark at people at the door. She does have the big hound bawoo, and will holler incessantly if she's feeling ignored. She once had two people with her, but because the third person she wanted attention from was 6 feet away...BAWOO. She's also a ridiculous foodie. She eats meals in her crate, since she has some concerns about other dogs stealing her meals. She's reasonably well mannered when people are eating at the table, but she's a terrible counter surfer. Her foster parents are working on it, and she's 1000x better than when she first arrived, but this is the hound dog that ate a plate of cookies and 73 raw eggs in under 3 minutes. You've been warned. She has yet to meet a treat she doesn't like, and will eat kibble, raw food, and bullsticks with equal enthusiasm. She prefers red meat to poultry, but is pretty far from finicky.
If you want a sweet and loving pup, who just wants to snuggle and go on adventures with you, Ella is the hound you've been waiting for!
